2002 AHHCP Awards

The following awards were given at the AHHCP 11th National Symposium in Hawaii on September 19, 2002.

  1. The Fetzer Institute—Acknowledgment Award In acknowledgement of the Fetzer Institute for their vision and support of relationship-centered care which demonstrates the ethic of Healing Healthcare: “Healing Ourselves, Our Relationships, and Our Communities”
  2. Five Mountains Hawai'i—Acknowledgment Award For its commitment to modeling the power of proactive involvement in the healing of its community; preservation and respect for native cultural beliefs and practices; and for its vision of environmental, economic, and spiritual health as it exemplifies the ethic of Healing Healthcare: “Healing Ourselves, Our Relationships, and Our Communities.”
  3. Barbara Glickstein—Leland R. Kaiser Founder's Award In acknowledgement of her efforts in the healing of her community, her dedication of care and caring through her vision and practice of relationship-centered care, and her personal and professional service to the ethic of Healing Healthcare: “Healing Ourselves, Our Relationships, and Our Communities.”
  4. Sam Magill—Acknowledgment Award In acknowledgement of his skill and creativity in articulating the practice and philosophy of healing healthcare as an organizational and community model based on the ethic of Healing Healthcare: “Healing Ourselves, Our Relationships, and Our Communities.”
  5. North Hawaii Community Hospital—Organizational Award In acknowledgement of North Hawaii Community Hospital for their commitment and demonstration of the ethic of “Healing Ourselves, Our Relationships, and Our Communities.”
  6. Northcrest Community Heartwood House—Acknowledgment Award In recognition of their commitment to innovative environmental design, programs, and research for clients with Alzheimer's disease and living an organizational and community model that serves the ethic of Healing Healthcare: “Healing Ourselves, Our Relationships, and Our Communities”.
  7. Sacred Heart Medical Center, Eugene, Oregon—Acknowledgment Award In acknowledgement of Sacred Heart Medical Center's commitment to Healing and Compassionate Care, the Center for Mission and Renewal, and for its extraordinary tending to the dying with its employee volunteer-based program, “No One Dies Alone.” In appreciation for serving the ethic of Healing Healthcare: “Healing Ourselves, Our Relationships, and Our Communities.”
